And clamping on the locknut (and the lower part) between stanchion and bottom seatpost? Is that an option?

Just raise the post up and clamp in on the lower as if it were a regular post. Remove remote from handlebar and pull some cable through if it’s not long enough to do this. Fast, simple, practical.
