Cat Induced Face Plant

#fridayfails cat snuck up onto the top of the jump when I wasn't looking and got me to slam the breaks and look like a fool with a facefull of dirt and a chest slam gnar. Luckily no serious injuries.

I've told my kids ever since they started riding bikes or especially driving, if you're faced with a critter in your way, center-punch that poor sucker. Better it's death or injury than your own. Animal lovers may not like me for that, but it's called self preservation. And was that a feral cat? seems a bit out of place on a forest trail, unless that's your back yard, and that's your cat. In which case this is an entirely different discussion!! I couldn't run my own kitter-cat over!! Hypocritical I guess.

Good logic that I usually live by. I should've hung in there for this one and trusted it would get out of the way but I came around the bend and it hesitated enough that I thought I was for sure going to hit it. Backyard trail and my kid's beloved cat. Killing or seriously injuring it would've been worse than the bruised ribs/wrist/neck/ego I ended up with.

Oh I totally get not wanting to wipe out one's own animals. Especially a cat (l'm a cat person, what can I say...). I was mostly speaking about nameless, faceless randos we encounter elsewhere in the world. And I get grabbing the binders, it's a reflex action. I hope your ego has healed and you're boosting better than ever!

Most importantly, I'm glad you came out relatively unscathed!
