1997 Eric Barone "Volcanoes Odyssey,"

In 1997, French mountain bike freerider Eric Barone ("The Red Baron") launched his "Volcanoes Odyssey," riding down some of the world's most active volcanoes to train for speed records. During this period, he famously rode on Etna in Italy, as well as Vulcano, Stromboli, Lipari, Mount Fuji, and Kilauea.
