 All the factory bikes in the uk are built with the rear brake on the left, so everyone gets used to it like that.
24" bikes are just more dirtjump specific, easier to throw around and the wheels are stronger.

but in England, or "across the pond" hah.
Some stuff is backwards.. steering wheels etc.
and i believe the break is the same.
