Mad March Racing Releases the Once-Secret "Helmet Trainer"

Mad March Racing releases the once-secret "Helmet Trainer" to the general public. Privately used by current and past Champions, The Helmet Trainer trains the athlete for proper body position in all types of mountain biking. Designed by World Master's Champion Shaums March, The Helmet Trainer has proven to be the most important aspect to an athletes training. "I came up with the concept back in 1996 while racing in the Norba Circuit," explains March. "When riding those early courses I could tell that there were specific body positions that made me more stable on the bike, and thus faster down the course. I just needed a way to train and make sure I was always using the right positions. After a bit of trial and error, I created The Helmet Trainer."The Helmet Trainer helps position the athlete so they keep their elbows out, chest low to the handlebars and head up for looking ahead. Created using the latest in acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber, The Helmet Trainer holds the rider in position while still allowing full movements and flexibility. With as little as 15 minutes a day, anyone can improve their riding as much as 13.5%. But don't just take it from Shaums, he will be the first to tell you that "many other riders have approached me over the years to ask me what my secret is. I've built Helmet Trainers for quite a few of them." Duncan Riffle, U.S. National Downhill winner, uses The Helmet Trainer as part of his program. "I just couldn't imagine trying to train without it," said Riffle, "this has easily cut my training time in half." Lars Tribus, also a World Master's podium athlete, has been using The Helmet Trainer for over 10 years. "Shaums and I had been good friends for years, but it took me almost three years to finally coax his training secret out of him. Within hours of trying it out, my riding was improved. Without The Helmet Trainer I'd probably be working a full time job in sales or something."

The Helmet Trainer, though, isn't just for downhill racing. "The Helmet Trainer was my secret weapon while filming for NWD8," says Freerider Wayne Goss. "I would practice each of the lines wearing The Helmet Trainer first, and then remove it at the last minute for filming. Without The Helmet Trainer, most of those lines wouldn't have been possible." Kyle Straight is another freerider using The Helmet Trainer. "I'm just excited that Shaums has finally decided to release this to the public. It was getting hard to train and still make sure I wasn't caught in a photo wearing the secret device. Without The Helmet Trainer, I wouldn't be where I am today"

Consumers can choose from the fiberglass "Basic Helmet Trainer", or choose to go with the "World Cup Helmet Trainer" which features carbon-kevlar construction. Both versions ship with leather carrying bag, multiple sizing pads, instructional DVD and a signed poster of Master's World Champion Shaums March.

The Helmet Trainer will be released to the public at Sea Otter. Pricing is $449.99 for the Basic Helmet Trainer, or $699.99 for the World Cup Helmet Trainer. Special Signature editions ($899.99) signed by March, Goss, Straight and Riffle will be available at the Crankworx events. For additional information visit www.madmarchracing.com.

I'm sure it works... (I also think Shaums is the shit) HOWEVER, with some practice you can focus on elbows out, chest low, and head up for a hell of a lot less than $400.00..... practice is free.
