@Conanangus, I agree %100. Fire your designer now and get someone new or outsource your designs. What? You only pay the guy in beer? That's your problem right there! You get what you pay for you know. All kidding aside, I would love to sport a PB shirt, but NONE, I mean NONE of the designs appeal to me.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I really like the LINE shirt in person, it really plays with your eyes if you stare at it long enough! And I can't wait till this one is ready - www.pinkbike.com/photo/12380237
The white one does look better. Don't really see the link between a mountain bike and an octopus though. Then again, I'm Dutch. What do I know about mountains...
MegaMonkey: The shirt represents how Pinkbike wraps you up with its tentacles, drags you down, crushes you with it's beak and scrapes your insides out with it's radula.
@goldsie Will it be offered in an inverse, white on black scheme? Really dig that design but white isn't the friendliest colour in a greasy work environment
I like the first one. I would get if if it didn't come to ~$40 after shipping and taxes. Suggestions: 1) design contests 2) try a system like BetaBrand (and others) who will do a print run once there are enough orders for an item.
I'm afraid to say that I'm probably not the first person to think that the pinkbike apparel seems dull, unimaginative and overpriced and that they could maybe sell more if there was a bit of variation injected.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but I have to agree. I have tried to like PB apparel for a while because not only would I like more bike related t-shirts but I would also love to support PB....
that said, the designs are just not striking a chord with me.
I don't have a particular preference...doesn't need to be overly complicated (although some imaginative artwork would be cool), but the simplicity here is just a bad version of simplicity.
Not saying I could do better, but maybe try out a few new designers and see if they can??
I'd even like it if they brought back some of the older shirts from about 10 years ago. they were more in your face, with tag lines like "I like 8 inches in the rear" or "Rider bails without warning" Most of the new shirts are pretty boring designs for what you have to pay.
