The Scott Enduro Cup presented by GoPro mountain bike race series heads to Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah on July 19, 2014 for its final stop of the season. Racers will tackle approximately 17.2 miles of rowdy and sometimes rooty trails over 3,200 vertical descending feet through sharp switchbacks and multiple technical descents. The course will also take a little tour through Canyons Bike Park. As this is the only NAET stop in Utah, many top riders will be flocking to Canyons Resort for coveted points towards the overall NAET standings.

That looked like a 26 inch Stumpy launching off the rocks. Sweet. We still live on

I'm loving the course they setup for this year. Adding the bike park stage is awesome, I really wish I hadn't fractured my damn ankle. The race last year was a ton of fun, with a pretty big field of riders. I'll be there gimping around and supporting my friends though.

Last minute sign up for the AM class. Even though I live here I haven't ridden any of the course other than Holly's and Ambush...fingers crossed there aren't too many surprises and I can keep it pinned.

Dicked up my back at work yesterday. Hoping I can still ride this. I'll be the bald dude in novice class on my blue/white 29er anthem Smile

I have a question. Enduro looks really sick...but what's the difference between it and downhilling, other then the gear?

There are timed downhill stages, on average 3 from what I've seen and you're supposed to pedal to the top of each one in un-timed but limited transfer stages. And you need to use the same bike throughout the whole event. Some enduro races last two days with 5-6 timed DH stages. The timed DH should be on gnarly trails that most people would consider bringing a DH bike on but that's not possible due to terrain/feasibility in some cases. Insurgent is the closest to that but even though the rest of the trails are far from that, they're still insanely fun... and that's really the true spirit behind enduro. I've had way more fun times at enduro races than DH or XC. The format itself allows you to interact and hang with people you don't know. It's awesome and well-built trails like these makes it even better.
