if it has two wheels, you can take down most stuff, not very fast tho. BMX limits your potential on the mountain. Its fact. You arguement is invalid. If bmx is as good as you say it is, mtb would not exisr.

try living in norfolk, even the biggest "thigs" you can do on a bmx, so doing them on a mtb is even worse, even the streets shit, along with the weather & lac of porpose built trails

yeah, I know... & idiots arguing about it here are really helping. It's quite sad when a rollerblader contributes to a biking site more than 99% of the bikers on here & most of u will hate me for no reason when I roll into a park or wherever. I roll with BMXers, MTBers, skateboarders & rollerbladers & we're all friends & appreciate eachothers skill no matter what we ride & here you guys can't get over a few inches here or there on a bike? Says a lot about the maturity of most ppl on here. sad
well actually pattywagon my friend rides his downhill at the sk8park all the time and he isnt that bad at it.

BMX is pretty darn badass, there was an odyssey poster in my Bio class freshman year and the guy was doing about a 20ft drop to flat, this would take a lot more balls on BMX. If you watch any new BMX video you can see that BMX is way ahead of MTB in the trick department, because their bikes are smaller and more nimble and they are not weighded down by the derailleurs and suspension. Sure MTB will whoop BMX anyday at DH and Rampage style jumps, but it is also possible on a BMX bike. The only thing holding BMX from not hucking massive drops in Utah is the riders' ability and handlement of pain. The same thing stands for MTB, they can go to skateparks and dirtjumps and shred too, but the riders have the disadvantage of longer wheelbase and more weight. Both MTB and BMX are forms of bicycle riding and they both have their perks and peeves, but at the end of the day, your riding a bike and proggressing in your specific genre of riding!

I mean come on we have dirt jumping trials rideing free rideing and down hill. all you can do on a bmx is go to skate parks and ride around. the only way it is fun is if you are a pro .which all those f*ggots that are b*tchen arent so shut the h*ll up now .
mtb can also do street and park so when you think about it, mtb can do any sort of riding when bmx is limited to 2-3 types

im sorry but bmx can do dirt jumps and do probly 3 times as many tricks and looks 3 times more flowy. and theres tons more things to do than 'go to skateparks and ride around' we can ride street and use our imagination and make almost anything rideable. now im not saying mtb cant do that because i have seen some amazing mountain bikers ride street and do it really well, but theres only a small amount that can do it nicely. and bmx and mtb are two COMPLETELY different types of biking and each have thier own pros and cons. now i would say mtb is more suited for dh and things like that, but for different types of riding i think street and park are more suited to bmx, and dirt jumping is probly suited to both equally. yeah you may be able to go faster and bigger on mtb. but you can co big on bmx and make it look super clean with the addition of cool tricks like turndowns and stuff that arnt suited on a mtb. now, to say bmx doesnt go big is totally wrong, just look at people like sean burns, chase hawk and colt fake. they go HUUUGE. so to say mtb overshadows bmx by a long shot is just simply wrong. they both have thier pros and cons and to some bmx appeals to them more and to others mtb appeals to them. its just how we ride and what we ride. just cus its different or faster doesnt make it better. they are both pretty equal and we should just enjoy what and how we ride. and not care how or what other people ride.
