So basically, Giant sold their old blueprints from the Dh-team, and Sunn built a newer version, with smaller tubing? dont get me wrong though, still an amazing bike,. it just seems to draw so much of it's design from Giant's old frame

Completely different linkage there mate.
The Giant has more in common with Ancilottis. The Sunn uses the same linkage it used to from way back when.

the only difference here looks to be the rear swing arm.. Giant uses a mono swingarm(one piece) where as the Sunn uses a separate chain stay/seat stay arrangement.. instead of pushing the shock upwards as on the giant, the little knuckle pivot pushes it forward..

dude the sunn linkage design has been around for yonks.
custom length shocks, thrust links, floating stays.
you dont see that on a giant.

well, on the Sunn website, the bike is called "VTT Radical Exo"... VT was a suspension platform used by giant on some of their older bikes. Also, on the Giant website, it says that the old Dh team used a "single pivot four bar linkage". By the looks of things, it almost sounds like a description for the Sunn.

well even if they are designed different i think they still look similar. not saying someone stole someones design just that they do look very similar atleast at first look

i think the biggest fail here is the fact that the sunn has been around since i was born - wayyy before the giant team dh

Nice looking bike! Does it come w/ the kickstand? Smile

Oh, the lack of any visible kind of reinforcement at the head-tube is interesting too.

If it rides anywhere near as nicely as my normal 07 Radical, it'll be mint. Mine was weighing in around 37 in race spec earlier in the year.

I'm pretty sure the VTT means velo tout terrain, or all terrain. In this case meaning Downhill.

in reply to derkaderka: obviously u dont no much french but vtt means velo tout terain, and tht translates roughly to mtb etc. it isnt to do with th linkage system. it may look similar to the giant but when u get down to the linkages it isnt so jus give up arguing that it is, no-one cares, its a sick bike
