IIRC, the bodies are made out of chromoly steel. If they were aluminum then they would for sure snap. They'll probably just bend and warp and be useless.

They're actually quite heavy due to the steel construction of the body. Over 500g if I recall correctly.

Yes and the 2010 prerunners didnt hold up well to abuse and the new ones are heavier. Not to mention these pedals were not designed to be light. The focus was on height rather than weight.

i swear that there will be no pedals attattched to a bike if pedals get any thinner! but on the other hand i must agree with chazdog. get the right material and technique and you could have a thinner pedal thats much stronger and lighter than a fatter/bulkier pedal.

I like my pedals like my women, not to thick or thin just strong enough that they can take a beating. Sorry but these pedals are to thin for me.
