The clinic includes 9 hours of classroom time over 3 days and two days of shooting at the Sea Otter event.  I'm sorry for all of you that think the price is too high. Keep in mind that there are a lot of expenses to be taken care of and I'm not getting anywhere near that much personally. It will be a great workshop and I promise you'll learn a lot. ncrider5 is right, you could spend $750 on a camera and then spend several years of your life trying to figure out the basics of photography. And you could spend over $20,000 on a one year digital photography program...
If you're not able to make Sea Otter I will be probably doing several other workshops this year from 3 day clinics up to one week all inclusive workshops. Let me know if you're interested but can't make Sea Otter and I'll keep you up to date with other upcoming clinics.

want to go so bad...but my "need" of an L series lens takes precedent Razz
  • 2 0
Yes, it is a "need" never a want, and once you have one you can never go back!

I am a bit scared of that "you can never go back part" Razz although I think after this guy I'm going to grab a Tokina AT-X 116 11-16mm f2.8 which is based of of the Tokina 12mm - 24mm f/4 PRO DX II which I shot with on a nikon at night sans flash and it was great

The only non "L" lens I own is a 50mm f/1.4 and it is awesome for the money you pay. Once you see the contrast clarity and saturation differnce of an "L" lens compared to the Canon kit lenses or the Tamron and Sigma's out there, that's when the, "Never go back" part start to haunt you...

You do get lunch at the event. And of course it will vary for each person how talented they can become, but it will improve any photographers skills regardless of level.

I will be taking a course in the next little while that is costing $350 for three 3hr classroom sessions just to learn Lr2 and better workflow. No picture taking involved. This is an amazing deal.

All of you people don't understand why you'd take this course, so obviously it's not aimed at you.

I had Ian as a Instructor for 2 weeks last year, I can attest it's worth the money. He's such a solid technical shooter.

Other clinic dates and locations haven't been decided yet, but stay tuned as they'll be posted here and on my site once they're decided. Probably something on the east coast for sure...
