My brother and I have made edits together for as long as I can remember. Growing up we would head straight for the loamy hills behind our house after school and we would dig until it was dark. I remember our dad would hassle us saying "
you work on your bike trails for hours, but I can't pay you to mow the damn lawn." Clearly we had our priorities straight. After the lines were complete we would grab the bikes and camera and spend all weekend taking turns riding and filming, coming home each night and dedicating hours teaching ourselves how to use Final Cut.
Over time I began to realize that Micah was better on a bike than I'll ever be; faster, smoother, quicker. That's always a tough pill to swallow, admitting that your little brother is better than you at something especially when it's a sport that you love, but the writing was on the wall. This edit is the epitome of us growing up riding bikes. We spent all summer building one of the two trails that are featured in this edit, needless to say, the grass was pretty long, only this time when it was done and ready to shoot I was more than happy to stay off the bike and behind the lens.

That's how trail systems end up like the North Fork. Destroyed and gated.
I suppose I'm not supposed to show people spots up at Baker then too? Wasn't enuf snow to hold a real Banked Slalom last year. Or good fishing spots & gear? Global warm=use it now, no guarantees.
I hope I was wrong (had to be, that spot is Priv Prop) - point being so many kids won't get off an xbox, let alone buy bikes & ride.
Life is too short, go along / get along - worry about terrorists or some such thing.
