That was great! Loved the pov bit at the end, simple enjoyment. We should all take a second out of every day to appreciate what such a simple machine does for us.
Fully agree Zimmer! And I'd venture to guess that more high-fives are had at the end of mountain bike trails than for any other reason and in any other sport.
Maybe 2k maybe less maybe more but one thing for sure, the moment is priceless when I'm with my bike on the trail. Alot of joy for a small investment...at least for me.
That was amazing, really well put across. It’s odd how similarly someone on the other side of the planet can explain what riding means to them. A good friend of mine recently had a photography exhibition, I wrote a little caption for the photo of me about why I ride. It’s pretty arty but its true and has some pretty mad parallels with what you said in the video. Check it out bellow.
There is nothing else like it, nothing even comes close. It’s my escape from the daily grind of modern life. Within 30 minutes under your own power, you can climb out of the city and into the peaks, with good company an endless network of trails ahead of you and nothing but freedom in your head.
When you reach the top and drop in, there is nothing else, but you and the trail, no distractions, no worries, no consequences. The trail doesn’t judge you, it doesn’t pressure you or make you feel uncomfortable; you make exactly what you want of it.
It’s much more than a just hobby or a sport, at some point this thing I did on the weekends became a lifestyle. It’s what I look forward to it’s what I look back on. It’s me and without it life would be mundane. Its freedom; true freedom That’s why I ride!
Awesome... That is exactly how I describe riding to my friends that don't ride. Very well said as I know I've used many of the lines in your video myself. Great work.
while I applaud the sentiment, it's just shy of being a truly great video!
pass this off to a talented colorist and this thing could really POP!
right now the muted colors and washed out contrast are working against your story. otherwise, love it!
jep, noticed that too. I'm quite sure it is the same jossi wells. he knows how to handle a camera and have worked with tim pierce on several projects before, but in front of the camera & on snow...
Cracking video, I almost missed the POV section at the end, sat here smiling whilst I was watching it, really summed up whats fun about riding a bike, well done : - ) Gonna watch it again now!
Good to see an edit that wasn't overly edited video packed with techno music. just a simple straight up video highlighting what true mountainbiking is all about! Now I'm stoked for my night ride!!!!
great vid, so true
