The Key West Ford Show & Shine (formerly the Royal City Show & Shine) just celebrated its 14th annual show & shine on July 14, 2013. The event is co-ordinated by the Down Town New West BIA and Showcases over 300 classic cars and trucks, community groups, beer gardens and live entertainment. The event draws an attendance of over 100,00 people to the City of New Westminster from all over the lower mainland and beyond.

We are very pleased with the interest and response we received from the public. It was great to see all the people smiling and reminiscing about their bicycles from childhood years. There was over 50 bicycles that competed in the show & shine, 17 display bikes, and an additional 30 plus riders who came out to support the event. There was 20 trophies up for grabs in categories such as Antique, Vintage, Custom, Children's, Most Original and Best in Show.

The competitors were a good mix of men, women and children and it was wonderful to see the unity that an event like this brings to individual riders, families and the community.

You are right, maybe we just assume that biking should be more riding then showing off a bike that never gets ridden
