First Look: All-New Bird Aeris 9
So here is a thing ,I am a bike mechanic and I am the first to poo poo direct sales brands and a lot of big none direct sales bike brands for poor quality frames and piss poor alignment, when you take full Sus bikes apart for a living you soon know what bikes are quality and what are not!, Now I have 2 good pals who have had several Birds one of which is very fast ,and I have rebuilt many with new frame bearings and I can say they are very very well made with good alignment -could do with bigger bearings in the Horst link though!.So just goes to show you that a lot of the big brands are ripping you off if bird can do it this well made with far fewer frames being made so with economy of scale etc etc ,oh and yeah any spec you want and colour choice and good cable routing.win win .

Field Test: 2022 Transition Spire - Suprisingly Versatile
Bike mechanics the world over want external rear brake hose ...mostly just external on the left hand chainstay as it make the job so much easier and quicker when we are changing out the suspension bearings!. obviously not an issue if it's a twinlink bike and the bearing are in the links but on a 4 bar faux 4 bar it's a pain in the hoop having a pointless 4-6 inches of hose in the stay!.bravo Transition!.

Cut the Crap - Opinion
So glad I am from the land of FREEDOM! Not the land of the free. Marin people come to Scotland on holiday and get a break form all that shit. You can literally ride your bike anywhere you want to the country side...... Well almost you can't fuck up someone 's field of barley obviously. But any mountain any path is all good . We really are very lucky!. Sure it's a bit rainy but That's what gore tex is for!.

Pinkbike Poll: How Has Your Riding Style Changed Over the Years?
I am nearly 36,riden mtb since I was 11,rode all types of bikes ridged xc to DH. In 2010 I was riding a 5 year old(had from new) full sus orange sub 5 with 130mm both ends about 28lbs,now ride 2010 orange 5 with coil u turn lyrics, jump a bit bigger ride the same stuff just a bit quicker and iam fitter bike is 31lbs .new bike will be a Giant Trance with a coustom pike in 2017 or some thing like that.I just don't need 160mm at the rear ot a 65o head angle.mtb is brilliant don't buy into all the hype of types of bikes, buy what's suits your riding and learn to look after it.you can't buy being a good rider ,do you need a carbon enduro bike with 65o head angle or would you be better off getting a lesson on how to ride?or learn from some you know is better than you.
