Martin Söderström in Greenville part 1.

There are many opinions about whether a mountain bike belongs in a skatepark or not. Martin Söderström clearly thinks that a Mountain bike belongs wherever you ride it. Greenville, North Carolina has, over the last 20 years, developed into a mecca for park riding. Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist and Daniel Dhers are just a few of the professional riders that have Greenville to thank for their successful careers. Daniel Dhers Action Sport Complex is the latest addition to the North Carolina scene and the first stop of Martins trip. Daniel has created a masterpiece and welcomes any wheel size with open arms. It's great to see Martin back in full swing after some bad luck with injuries. Don't miss part 2 dropping tomorrow as the tall Swede makes his way over to one of the best parks in the world, The Unit.

When Nyquist is like "Yo come ride my park after hours" you know you're cool.

That looks like actually before hours, because they don't open till 3 on the afternoon. I go there with my son sometimes... really cool place!

Mountain bike's are basically BMX bikes for Soderstrom.

even a dh bike feels small, when you're that big. I simply love it Wink

Specialized should make a 29er dirtjumper for Martin.

"All wheels welcome, as long as you have man power..." I think Daniel Dhers is making a statement there...

All wheels welcome is a big statement and Daniel Dhres is a true legend on 2 wheels. Sod killed it up in there.

@JoseBravo: man... get that SJW shit outta here. he meant that ALL wheels are welcome, none of that 20" is better, 27.5" is better, pick-your-wheel-size-and-be-a-dick-about-it bullshit that's become so prevalent, as long as you're willing to put in the work.

Through the links I ended up watching his recovery videos again. He's a proper man- none of this bulking up trying to get a six pack for summer, just pure drive to get back doing what he loves. Hugely stoked to see him back shredding- i honestly believe he is one of the best ambassadors we have for our sport.

I'm not fond of DJ/slopestyle events, but watching Martin is always a treat! I hope he's gonna be back to full form this year.

backflip to manual...where does the angular velocity go???
  • 2 0
@captaintyingknots: less so the angular velocity and more of the velocity in the y direction from the force of gravity being in it down, also producing enough torque to resist the downward force on the front of the bike when the back wheel acts as a pivot point. I have no idea if what I just said is true in any way, I just took a physics final last night and my brain is still pulsating with terms that I have no idea what they mean Big Grin

Is Marty that big or is Daniel that small?
  • 1 0
 Söderström is tall man!

What the snot is he doing in our state? Daniel Dhers park is a hell of a long way from nothing to do with anything Soderstam should be flying/driving/passing by.

First I find out Dave Weagle is in Charlotte at a NASCAR race, now Soderstam is taking out of the way trips here. Something special brewing here I don't know about?
