Racers took on a hot day and loose, twisty dusty conditions on Peavine Mountain in Reno, NV for the 2014 California Enduro Series kick off, the Battle Born Enduro. Top step for pro men went to Doug Thayer with Teal Stetson-Lee taking the win for pro women.
"Why Nevada? Just like the Tour de France occasionally starts in England or Belgium, the CES felt that Reno was geographically close enough. Heck, the west base of Peavine mountain is actually in California, so it is that close."
Nice Doug! You have always been an amazing athlete! More importantly an even better person! I am stoked for you! Next race I would love to see you kill it again in the cutters jersey
OES is getting a lot of positive press. However, if you are looking for chunk and gnar, CAES has got you covered. You won't see any 29er hard tails at Northstar or Mammoth!
The Chunk and Gnar however was not at this stop. there was about .8 miles that was proper out of the whole 25.5. the timed sections besides section 5 were flat. and uphill. I Can't wait for the mammoth and northstar stops though
Ehhh, okay
You know before "Enduro" bikes guys rode this trail on hardtails: m.pinkbike.com/video/351780
In this case you would see like a TON of 29er hardtails. Try a hardtail once on your most #enduro trails... Then you will be a mountain biker.
