The brilliant
Bas van Steenbergen makes it look easy in Silver Star Bike Park.
We are loving this video. It was awesome to have an incredible rider like Bas take on the early season trails with such amazing speed and skill. Not to mention how fantastic the trails are looking this year.
Watching the video got us talking about what makes the perfect trail. For sure, the foundation is the trail crew's hard work walking every trail and raking every berm. But moisture content matters, too, as Bike Park manager Cam Sorensen recently mused: "
we've had just the right combination of moisture and heat to hold the trails together, keeping them nice and tacky, negating brake bumps and keeping the berms good and steep." It's definitely the perfect combination for the perfect run.
New for 2015Other developments in the Bike Park include a new and improved pump track opening by July 1st. Through the summer, a series of small, medium and large dirt jumps will be added in along the sides of the pump track.
Also in the works and coming along nicely is the third and final stage of
Jedi Mind Trick - a Silver Star favourite. The build is happening in sections, which will open as they are completed. The first series of jumps is nearing completion and is scheduled to open in early July, possibly by July 1st if the moisture content permits.
