Interview: Talking About Tires With Maxxis, Schwalbe, Continental, WTB, & Others
I hate most Minions with a passion, but I agree with your statement about getting used to one tire.

2 wheel vehicle tires have to do more than 4 wheel vehicle tires. MTB tires are dirt cheap compared to even commuter moto tires.

If toughness was the goal, they wouldn't have used straight gauge spokes.

Review: Maxxis's New Forekaster Tire is Heavier & Better Than The Original
@babathehutt: The old formula of Stan's did that, but so did the old Orange Seal. I had Orange Seal blowout the side of tires back in 2014. After a LOT of convincing my mechanic got me to try Orange Seal again this year and it was okay. Still dries up pretty fast, though. I've had better luck with Muc-Off, Bonty, Hutchinson, and Conti Revo.

10 Retro, Rare & Rad Bikes From Sea Otter Attendees
Their last gen alloy bikes didn't need to be 157 to be stiff enough, either. That last alloy Mach 6 was a good bike. The Trail429 would be on my short list if they offered an alloy 148 version, (As it is, the Ripley AF tops my list.)

Pinkbike Poll: What Do You Carry to Fix a Flat Tire?
In 30+ years of riding I have never had a trailside flat repair work, regardless of who fixed it. But since I started riding tubeless 8 years ago, I've had fewer than half a dozen flats.
