That video was shot last winter. We don't have winter all year around.

It's normal skiing resort.

flag eric---o (Oct 11, 2007 at 15:18)
ya obviously lol..what i meant was..what ski place is this? and they run the lift for dh even in the winter?

flag air2k (Oct 13, 2007 at 23:29)
It's Laajavuori in central Finland.
We had a deal with the company and we can use lifts. We have our own trails in forest there, that we maintain. Unfortunetly we aren't allowed to ride in ski slopes.

sick vidoe man, do you have studded tires for that??
  • + 0
flag air2k (Oct 11, 2007 at 22:27)
Actually we have self-made screw tires. Much longer studs than on any factory made tire.

flag brook-nullmeyer (Oct 12, 2007 at 12:30)
sick, that's what i thought, when you put the studs though the nobs, then put in a dead tube

Very cold weather (like over -15degrees celsius) hurts seals. But who rides on weathers like that. Smile

Have you though of replacing your fork oil with antifreeze? xaxa Doesn't your suspension get slower in the cold weather? I haven't tested my boxxer in the snow, but to do that i have to wait for another month Smile
  • + 0
flag air2k (Nov 9, 2007 at 2:06)
If you have very heavy oils like 12w, they are too slow in cold. Some ppl changes their oils to lighter ones. I drove my Boxxer with stock oils last winter and it worked good.

he mentions up a little further on the page that he uses custom screw studs.. i was wondering the same myself and went looking through all the posts to see if i could find the answer Smile I personally wouldn't have made it 12 feet, he he.

there enough trails there to make a bike trip viable?

i know it wont be as big as morzine etc, but i want to combine a trip to finland with biking, and Himos seems perfect.
  • + 0
flag air2k (Nov 22, 2007 at 23:38)
Himos is not open yet. It will open some time during season '08 as if I have understood correctly. Maybe you should register to http://www.ridefree.fi and ask about making trip to Finland. It's Finland's biggest MTB forum. There you will get right answers. Wink
