First off you didn't time the whole trail. Second you should feel ashamed that you came at those hikers so fast. That's what we need to avoid. You gotta understand that they have a right to be on the trail. They can go complain and if they try hard enough can put a big stick in the mud of our riding. YOU NEED TO BE MORE RESPECTFUL PUNK

9am on a sunday? okay well maybe i didnt time the whole trail idk where the exact time spots start and end are but from how iv timed it from the last year or so to get my personal times thats my time and best one at that but i dont realy care about that...but how could i avoid that watch the video and see that i came around a completly blind corner and first thing i did was slam on my brakes i had a bell on my bike i braked at first sight on people realy in my opinon i didnt do anything wrong in that situation. i understand you need to be respectufll to the hikeers cuz honestly they have just as much right to be up there as we do if not more. but realy what else i could have done in that situation im realy not sure. tell me?

First, great vid! I love the drops at 1:34 into the video! That looked like a fun section! 
Second, it looked like it was just one of those things that happens on a public trail. From what I saw I didn't see anything you did wrong. Given the terrain and the way that trail is, your line of sight is very limited. Same with the hikers. I'm sure if they could have seen you coming they would have gotten off to the side. Things happen.
It sucks that it ruined (for a lack of a better description) your ride and that happens on public trails. The worse is when they don't make an effort to get out of the way! At least those hikers were trying to hop off the trail but because of your speed and where it was they just couldn't do so quick enough.
And it was obvious that you did get on the brakes when you saw them so it wasn't as if you were just blowing past them.
It was just one of those things that happen...

I agree with that FireBall guy. You could have killed that dog! Those hikers have a right to walk up that trail without getting run into, because it's not a biking trail, it's a walking trail that we're lucky enough to ride - for now. Us mountain bikers who were around for the first wave of trail closures (before you guys were born) remember that it in the eyes of the public, the voice of one single hiker equals the voices of about ten kajillion mountain bikers. It's just the sad truth. And doing timed runs down a busy multi-use trail is a pretty dickish thing to do, no matter how you slice it.

And @ Jordan, sure it's a bummer. But the way to be responsible on multi-use trails (that you want to keep open, anyway) is to NOT go around blind corners at any speed where you can't easily and safely stop allowing you to yield the right of way to them, because hikers ALWAYS have the right of way. Sad but true, you have to go around every blind corner as if there's a family of blind hemophiliacs standing right there (no offense to hemophiliacs or the blind).
