Forward Geometry Mondraker 2013

Mondraker launches an evolution geometry concept focused on its core bike range. The new Forward Geometry presents clear advantages for any category compared with a traditional geometry. Fabien Barel, as Mondraker ambassador and a key role in the development of the Forward Geometry gives a more thorough explanation about the new geometry.

This concept is spot on. I have been riding my bikes with really short stems and forks a 15-20mm longer than recommended creating the same effect. This bike looks like a DH bike in an AM application! Very good Mondraker! RidEOn!

Months and months back (April), I wanted to try this idea out after hearing/reading about it. Mark Weir Bike Check was the first place I ever heard of it. I did something very similar to him, but with some older shizzle. I bought a large '08 Mongoose Khyber Elite used (I'm the same height as Mark), binned the stem and bars that were on it and ran a 30mm Answer stem with a flat Kore Torsion 710mm bar.

My take is that the setup rocks! My favorite bike of all the bikes I own by far! And now that it's stripped down and getting new paint, bearings, wheels, and pedals (black with green wheels and accessories), it's going to look as sick as it rides.

The only drawback to this geo? It takes a little more effort/body english to get the front wheel up. Also, the front end may feel a little detached depending on your riding style. Don't over inflate the front!!!!!

One last drawback:there isn't a carbon version of the Mongoose Khyber. :-(

so basicly its the change to the handel bars position ?

the bars stay in the same place but the front wheel is further from the BB for more stability.

the goal is to increase the front-center...BB to front axle...
