There is no system, it's just body balance. He is using Hope pro 2 trials hub and single speed of course.

do you ride trials ? dont think so looking at your profile.. if you ride DH and street they will hold up.. but i broke 2 axles (one each year) untill a mate made me a steel one.. pics in my trial bike albums

Really? I do mostly trails, but I've hit some pretty gnar stairs too, no worries yet with my Pro 2's.

i think stairs are the edge of what they can take,,. un suspended trial moves are the death of them, although i must notye that when i caontacted the hope dealer.. he never heard of someone breaking 2 axles.. i am the only one so far.. but with the steel axle now,.,. the count has stopped
be warned btw . i talked to the mechanic @ the hope stand @ the megavalanche and he noted me that the maxle axles light edition for the rear wheel , the ones with the narrow middle, break hope axles aswel; ! new m,axles are 12mm through now.. without the narrow middle..
