Hello,
Thinking about getting the 2020 9.8 could anyone tell me how they handle fast loose rocky descents IE chatter and square edge hits. I can't seem to find I what sort of progression curve it has.
I'm 5'10 11 stone some bikes suit heavier riders.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Antonio's linkage design blog has what you need: https://linkagedesign.blogspot.com/2020/01/trek-remedy-275-2020.html

I absolutely love my Remedy and how much fun it is, but you should look into a 29er for that kind of terrain. Bigger wheels will almost always handle fast chunk/chatter better than a 27.5, even if it has less travel. If you want a more playful 29er, look at the Specialized Stumpy EVO, Kona Process 153, Rocky Mountain Altitude, Ibis Riply, etc. At the very least, consider a mullet bike to get the extra benefit on the front end.

Just got my brand new remedy 8! Totally stoked, can't wait to get out and ride it.

How have other people found the code r brakes? My only experience with sram brakes was a very disappointing one with a set of guide r on a splash enduro back in 2016ish. Since then I've only run zee or saint.

I'm gonna give these a few weeks to see if I can get on with them but are there any long term users out there? How have they worked out for you?

Thanks,
I was quite happy on 26" wheel's, I ride a YT jeffsy pro race and find it way to harsh. I think this is because it is so progressive.. I've tried every combination of settings even upgraded to coil and lyric which has improved it. But it still isn't as composed as my old 26" prophet and 26" strive.
I just want a bike that will do everything comfortably that I can enjoy, not necessarily excel at any one thing.
Thanks again

Here's a graph of the YT Jeffsy and 2019 Strive. Might be worth searching around for something similar to the Strive's values: https://linkagedesign.blogspot.com/2019/09/young-talent-jeffsy-29-2019.html
2015 Strive: https://linkagedesign.blogspot.com/2014/06/canyon-strive-cf-2015.html

For a similar feel as your old bikes, look for something with an anti-rise starting 110% and falls off.
29er: Stumpy EVO, Kona Process 153
27.5: Trek Remedy, SC 5010

Just set up my 9.8 2019 remedy as a mullet. It’s pretty damn fun.

I found this on Google this afternoon. Looks as if there are no changes for the 2022 Remedy, other than color and no 9.9 model yet. Also, the Carbon frameset pic they have posted looks different... like a Slash... Thoughts?

I think the frameset pic is just an error, that's a slash frame. If the frame had changed the '22 9.8 Remedy would use it.

Well that's interesting...

No demand for 9.9 model. Cool colors tho!

That's a hell of a leak. Must be a EU/UK only model.

Guessing not for 2022 due to the leaked pics showing no update, but I wonder if Trek will go the route of many other OEMs recently and make the Remedy a mixed wheel 29/27.5 mullet option in the future. Like what SC just did with the Bronson and Evil with the Insurgent.

I personally would be very interested.

Gotta be honest, that's what I was expecting...

Same here. Been frankenmulleting my ‘19 remedy the last few weeks and really enjoying the set up.

Is it possible to mullet the Remedy without changing out the front fork? (I have a 2020 9.9)
