just need to build my wheel set for my specialized

torrent and put the newly built wheelset on my

25/9 is common for 20" wheels.

28/12 would be similar for 24" wheels ...

Funny story, when I first got my NS rotary hub, it came with a 10t cog and all I had for a ring was a 30t so I ran 30-10 on a 26 for about a month.... It was nuts.
Im on 25-10 now and its still pretty hard.

Uh I just realized this is in the DJ thread. Sorry and nevermind, I'm talking about a street speedster.

can anyone help me out please, can someone tell me the best ratio for a dj bike which is used for dirt jumping and a large chunk of downhill or slopestyle trails. Ive got no interest in trying to pedal up i just wanna be able to pick up speed quick on flat and going down and not run out of gear, i dont mind pedalling abit harder than most, but i just dont want the gear to run out too quick. oh yeah wheel size is a 26"

Cheers!!

Just buy a sprocket with one or two more teeth if you dont have enough speed.

For what you're looking for (more top end speed while mostly riding downhill) I would say a gear inch number in the mid 60's.Note that this would be stouter than the typical/ standard bmx/DJ 55 gear inches. Although.... when you say "pick up speed fast" that works better with a 55-ish gear ratio.

Going to try out 25/12 on a street/DJ 26" build...have a feeling its going to be too light tho

Is your BMX 24" wheels? Cuz 25/10 with 20" wheels is too light. 25/9 or 28/10 is more "normal."
