So I bought a KS dropper which then broke (completely sticking) within 3 months of use. I sent it into KS for warranty service and they sent it back to me still completely broken. They then asked me to send it in AGAIN. (all shipping was on me too... so $40 in shipping so far) at which point they sent it back to me STILL BROKEN. The attached video is AFTER I opened the box FROM A SECOND TIME WARRANTY SERVICE. I am now with a $186 paperweight that is still under warranty. They are a joke of a company and the warranty is a straight up scam. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. DO NOT BUY.
THE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS (RICK) ALSO TOLD ME I NEED TO HAVE MY SEAT TUBE REAMED. WHICH I DID AGAINST MY MECHANICS ADVICE AT THE COST OF ANOTHER $30. (WHICH OBVIOUSLY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEFECTIVE DROPPER). SO IM ALL IN AN ADDITIONAL $70 PLUS THE DROPPER COST. AND OF COURSE THE COMMENTS SECTION ON THEIR INSTAGRAM IS BLOCKED. IM SURE THEY DO THIS OFTEN.
ALSO IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEA ON WHAT KIND OF RECOURSE I MAY HAVE AS THIS IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THEY ARE JUST STRAIGHT UP NOT HONORING IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I HAVE PLENTY OF EMAILS/TEXTS/VIDEOS/PICS AND PROOF.
Bought a KS post for cheap, once. Crashed, the saddle twisted during the crash and sheered off all of the keys on the carbon shaft (most posts have replaceable keys). Emailed KS customer support and received no response. Emailed a second time with no response. Won't buy their overpriced crap.

All I hear is nightmare stories with their customer support. NOBODY should be buying their products. There are plenty of companies who stick by their products to have to deal with KS scams
I had a KS E20. Here’s the review I wrote when I got it a year ago.
I got my son a 100mm KS E20 dropper for his bike, along with the KS Westy remote. Total was $184.10 from Modern Bike. There are a dearth of 100mm external activation post models, and this one was in stock, so I went with it. The remote is basic but solid & it's fine (if I was doing it again, I'd spend the money on a Wolftooth). The dropper, however, was a huge disappointment. It was very sticky and hard to actuate. It would get stuck. Overall, just terrible.
So I disassembled it. It's fairly easy & basic to take apart. Once I got it apart, I wasn't surprised to find very little lube, and a shocking amount of grit between the post and tube. I think they must assemble these outdoors in the middle of some windy and dusty desert. Seriously, it was terrible. In addition, there are three brass bushings that ride in slots on the post and locate the post in slots in the tube. I expected this from seeing videos of Lev disassembly, but what I didn't expect were tiny brass bushings and additional plastic bushings in the same slot. It's like they needed to save 1/2 a penny on brass or something. And the plastic bushings are larger than the brass ones, ever so slightly. And they're very tight in the slots on the outer tube. So I took them out when I reassembled the post. The brass will slide up & down in the now-too-large slot they live in, but between that & a generous amount of Slickoleum, the post works now.
So now that I spent an hour disassebling, cleaning and "modifying" the post, it works. For $155 for the post, I'm pretty dissatisfied with the assembly quality. The lack of lubrication & the grit was appalling. The design (apart from the strange two-material locator bushing issue) seems fine.
Would I buy it again? Hell no. I'd get another Brand-X Ascend. They're $30 cheaper, come with a perfectly functional remote (so total $62 cheaper for equivalent functionality), and work well out of the box.

I had the same issue with KS.......just crickets. crappy product and no after sales service.....never again
I found (years ago) that a KS dropper I'd bought was very sensitive to seat collar tightening pressure.
Tighten too much and instantly the dropper would score the tube.
The next dropper I bought was a Reverb. That lasted 7yrs.
so you're saying tightening the seat collar too much would cause permanent damage?
Yep. Immediately. You could easily make the dropper freeze solid by a turn of your Allen key on the collar.
I've never ever experienced that with a Reverb. I can't comment on any other brand and I know in the early day Reverb had some issues but I've had none.

That is an insane design flaw. just further proves what crap products KS sells. I just ordered a OneUp post. Lets hope it proves to be reliable

I really wish I had looked into their terrible customer service horror stories before buying one. not only are they shit dropper posts but it's impossible to get any help from them.

NOBODY should have to do all that to get a dropper post to work as it should. You're lucky you even got it working. Mine hasn't worked in over a year and im stuck with it being a paperweight. I just ordered the OneUp. I've heard good things about the post and even better things about their customer service. but I guess ANYTHING is better than KS
UPDATE 5/8/2023: Max from Brands Cycle (the shop I bought the post from) went to bat for me and fought KS to refund the defective post. If it wasn't for Max I would've 100% been out of my money. Moral of the story is KS is a horrible scam company whom you should NEVER EVER buy from, BUT Max and Brands Cycle have phenomenal customer service and you should buy from them... just not any KS products.
