Just got my 22 / 9 comes out to 63.6 gear inches. So far my favorite for 26", wish I tried it sooner. The splined sprocket also lined up with my Ti 9t driver perfectly, so stoked on this setup. The chainring barely clears the frame.

how can it be that a 22t barely clears the frame!?

When I added the smaller 9t driver I had to use no spacers with the 22t sprocket for a perfect chainline. In the pictures that shows the tooth maybe 1/16" from the frame, and you can see just from frame flex it scraped just a hair off of the clearcoat. But those pics were after a hard park session right now, so I'm cool with it now. When I got the parts it came with a 28t ring and i had maybe 1/2" of spacers to keep it off of the frame and had my chainline all outta wack.

That is great information. I'm glad you posted it. Very interesting that you have to run 22/9 with this frame.... Then again, I'm not that surprised, because to get such short chainstays on new school 26"s while also accomodating fat tires, there really isn't much room left for sprockets. I'm wondering if you think your 9t driver is spaced closer to the center of the hub than the cog on a different style hub would be. I run 30/14 with a regular 14t freewhel on my Mob. I recall people saying you could do 32t and 34t, but not with decent chainline!! (on a hub that doesn't allow for cog spacing)

The Ti 9t driver I installed on my bike replaced a 12t driver and it was spaced further out, probably could used a few more spacers to achieve better chainline with the 28/12 it came with, but i was planning on 22/9 anyways. Gotta say much easier with the splined sprocket and being able to put spacers on the outside of the sprocket to keep cranks from hitting frame. Getting the short chainstays on this frame with keeping the frame straight and strong rather than a bend or dent in it to clear chainrings is part of why I chose this frame over others. Just went with it now im in love.
