Today, e.thirteen is proud to announce the worldwide aftermarket availability of its direct mount bashguard technology.Over the past several years, e.thirteen has worked in secret along with some of the world’s top riders to develop and refine their worldwide patent pending direct mount bashguard chainguide technology. After winning six (6!!) World Championships and being shaped through countless hours of analysis and testing, this new system is ready for release. The pioneering e.thirteen design attaches a “taco”™ bashguard directly to a chain retention system mounting plate. Eliminating the bashguard attached to the cranks reduces chain retention system weight, while offering the bash protection that racers need to compete. As of today, e.thirteen is the only company that currently has a public patent portfolio aimed at protecting direct mount bashguard chainguide technology. This innovative product was first made available in 2008 on complete bikes from a wide range of manufacturers, and as part of the lightweight and secure LG-1™ chain retention system.

Beyond the product launches for 2008, e.thirteen is delivering video content online through their YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/ethirteenvid). In addition to videos of their riders and contributions from videographers like Clay Porter and Don Hampton, mechanics and riders alike will be able to watch installation videos for all of e.thirteen’s chain retention systems.

LG1 chain retention systems with direct mount tacos are available from participating distributors, and in several color options to match your bike. 2008 colors include black/clear, all black, and all white. New RPM Orange Limited Colorways LG-1 chain retention systems are also shipping from participating distributors, and additional videos will be added to the e.thirteen website and YouTube page on a regular basis.

 What is the use on the mrp G2 for the bash to continue to the lower tensioner.. there ain't gonna be a damn rock going to bend that thing out... don't you think? And if any of you saw the new colorway with the new name, it's a well deserve punch in the face of the MRP guys...

 Keep in mind its designed for racers, I don't think you would want to hit too many rocks or logs at mach 10 but for most stuff it should be fine. As for E13 vs MRP.....I lived up at Whistler all summer and didn't lose a single chain once. Nuff said.

 i think i prefer the e-thirteen but i think there mgith be some snags. the mrp is patented and there are differences between the two but somehow i don't think that is going to stop them

 The loophole comes in to play, because the bashguards are different (i would assume). The MRP design has a bash that also protects the lower tensioner, where the e13 bash guard stops right before the lower tensioner.

 i think the new bash guards would add more stress to your crank bolts. haveing 2 pieces only connected to 2 bolts each. when you are slaming down on your bash guard you will have i higher risk of breaking your crank bolts.

 Pssst... They don't bolt to the cranks at all. They bolt to the chainguide boomerang.

 nebody know where you can buy the LG1 with taco? Chainreaction only do it orange which chlashes horribly with the rest of my bike.

 yeah um the lg1 came out b4 the g2 and already has the mounts on the back plate so then you could mount these, plus if you were lucky, your lg1 guide would come with these bash guards. They have been out for a while, but the after market ones are new

 actually mrp had the patent for the design before e13, just e13 made this lil thing after. im guessin there will be a legal battle. lol

 Not true. Dave owns the patents for every configuration of boomerang mounted bashguards that you can imagine. MRP does not. Dave won't give out specifics but the MRP is DEFINITELY an infringement. He hasn't decided yet how he's going to address it.

 Not that E-13 should feel threatened. LG1 is the only one that actually qualifies at a "light guide," because its the only one thats actually light. The G2 is for lack of a better term, heavy as "balls." The MRP system does look cool though, but as far as efficiency, its heavier, and costs more, and still only holds a chain on par with the LG1.

 they are closer to 200 shipped and everything with tax. i believe they are like 157.48 or something like that from the book.
