Cannondale Partners with Crankworx for 2013

by Tyler Maine
The Cannondale Les 2 Alpes Enduro will be an Enduro World Series stop that takes place at the festival July 6 and 7, 2013. Crankworx Les 2 Alpes will take place from July 6-14.

“We are thrilled about Cannondale’s support for both Crankworx Les 2 Alpes and for our stop for the Enduro World Series,” says Sebastion Chovet, Crankworx Les 2 Alpes Event Manager. “Les 2 Alpes has hosted Enduro races for years and the Crankworx Les 2 Alpes Enduro will help mark the global entry of the discipline while opening registrations to anyone who wants to compete."

The addition of an Enduro World Series date at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes will attract a roster of high level athletes comparable to what has been seen in the freeride and downhill disciplines at Crankworx events over the past ten years. Cannondale’s Jerome Clementz, Mark Weir and many other high profile Enduro athletes are expected to compete on July 6 & 7 as they work to earn valuable points towards the overall Enduro World Series title.

Crankworx Les 2 Alpes will take place July 6 – 14, 2013 and is the only Crankworx event to take place outside of North America. This event is presented in partnership with Tourist office of Les 2 Alpes and Ayton Concept of France. Crankworx Whistler will host its tenth anniversary and take place August 9-18, 2013. While nine years of awe, next level action and epic moments are a tough act to follow, next year's event will deliver a celebration worthy of the world class athletes who support the competition year after year. Crankworx Whistler is presented by Whistler Blackcomb and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park.

Awesome. Crankworx is an amazing event and cannon dale is a great, honest company. But they really should make some full on DH bikes and not just the moto

The Moto was discontinued 3 years ago. They now make the Trigger (pictured underneath Jerome Clementz), a 130 front and rear bike, the Jekyll, with 160 in the front and rear, and the Claymore, with 180 in the front and rear. I work at a Cannondale dealer, and they are mostly focused on road and XC, but their Enduro stuff is awesome. I do agree that they should definitely make more gravity bikes. They currently make a dj and a slope rig, but they're both team only.

@kavirengel: You're right, the Jekyll has 150-90 in the rear. Nice catch, you have one?

Are Cannondale still owned by Pacific Cycles? If so I can't wait to buy one at K-Mart. They ditched their Dirt jump bikes when Pacific Cycles bought them out as well as ALL their gravity/freeride models. Not to mention Aaron Chase stopped competing for them and they ditched his SS Proto. Does someone else own them now cause they are starting to come back with cooler bikes? They have some access to military only impact resistant carbon fibre. Please enlighten me.

@kavirengel that really sucks. It's a nice bike, and an awful way to be reminded of the dicks out there.

@mfbeasts I completely agree. It was probably some dumb ass guy who sold it for a few hundred bucks.

They can't build a decent xc rig that doesn't cracknfail I'm not sure they can handle dh abuse

where did cannondales get that reputation? I can vouch for them having amazing road bikes, and I've never heard of one fail except when a dude decided to huck a full set of stairs on a scalpel and his derailleur came off (but thats asking for it)

^^i totally agree. Cannondale makes great, sturdy bike that hold up really well. Lots of Colorado LBS's use cannondales and like them because they are trustworthy and generally pretty low maintenance and will take a beating

@ Choppertank: You are incorrect enough in your statements / confusing questions to make people mad enough to log in to pinkbike. I hope you can sleep at night.

I love how they made a bike that has enduro travel but lighter than half the bikes on the XC World Cup.

Cannondale builds good quality bikes! I have an old 03 gemini 900 and it still takes a beating! Never had any problems as long as you regularly service them..
