Garett Buehler’s Neighborhood

I set out on assignment to Nelson BC to shoot a bike check for Mongoose Bikes, with their young rider Garett Buehler. After arriving in Nelson, it became apparent that this was going to be all about a good time. Garett’s home is situated across Kootenay Lake. It is especially unique because his home has no trace of civilization, yet it’s a quick five-minute boat ride into down town Nelson.

Garett, Kurt Sorge, and a posse of friends have managed to build a full on jump zone. It consists of multiple lines to utilize all bikes and showcase their style.


Being in the midst of summer, the jumps were not running tip-top, fresh dirt and dry conditions don’t go good together. So we decided to step back and enjoy the good times Garett and his buddies live day to day.

Garett did not want to just make a typical bike check, and this is what we came up with.
