Silver Star Set to Open for Bonus Weekend
It’s only a few more days to the first BONUS weekend (June 22/23). The Crew has been amazing this year and the weather has cooperated (for the most part). We are so lucky to have such a dedicated group of guys on our Trail Crew. Every year these guys come back to shape, mold and buff the bike park and all of us are the recipients of their labour of love. The park is ready to go and our early season bonus weekend is this Saturday and Sunday and the park is in great shape!
Trail Crew had to move very little snow in the park, and in fact didn’t have to shovel any snow by hand for the first time in years! They hit the stuff at the top early with the mini hoe to give it a head start and it paid off. The three main trails off the top, Super Star, World Cup and Challenger will be ready to go with a little ribbon of snow off to the side for the bonus weekend. By the time the regular opening comes around next week (June 27) it should be all gone. From Hub 1 down the park is 100% clear of all snow.

Make sure you get your bikes into your local shop so they are ready to rip this weekend. 10 a.m. Saturday morning the lifts will turn for the first time this summer signaling the true start of DH season. We can’t wait to see all the familiar faces again this summer.

New this season in the Bike Park is XC mountain biking trails, creation of our new Blue Trail – Jedi Mind Trick, hosting BC Championships July 28 and Silver Style jump jam is now an FMB World Tour Bronze event.
