Carson Storch. His name sounds like the alter ego for some long forgotten superhero created by Bob Kane or Stan Lee. Storch isn't a superhero, but he does have preternatural bike control and style to match. Carson's riding progression these past few seasons has been exponential. From no foot cans to flipwhips in three years. Bend, Oregon is Carson's hometown and a hotbed for mountain bike talent. Like Whistler, Kamloops, and Aptos, the presence of skilled veterans (like Jamie Goldman and Kirt Voreis) and hungry young riders creates a perfect storm of progression. I won't say they're ''feeding off each other,'' but there is a certain amount of co-operative learning and pushing of comfort zones that occurs. With riding buddies like Voreis, Goldman, and Austin Aldrich, how could you not improve? Carson shreds on everything from the hardtail to his freeride bike. Fall trails are the best trails.
After riding at bend and seeing the most of the jumps he hit in this video. It's pretty awesome to see someone shred them like this. Makes me want to go back out there and give that slalom course another try.
