The UCI has announced that the XC World Championships which was due to take place between the 25-28 June has been postponed.
Following the announcement earlier this week that the Fort William round of the downhill World Cup had been cancelled
the latest event to fall victim to the spread of COVID-19 is the XC World Champs in Albstadt, Germany.
The decision which has been made by the City of Albstadt, the German cycling National Federation (BDR) and the State of Baden-Württemberg, focused on the risk "to the health of the riders, all those involved in the event and the fans", with the UCI in full support of the decision. Under the latest guidelines set by the cycling federation, all World Championship events will have priority when it comes to finding new dates for the events to be held in the future.
