Blue Mountain Course Release: MEC Canadian National Enduro Series Presented by Intense Cycles

Undoubtedly, the best descents in Ontario exist at Blue Mountain Resort, and the resort is pulling out all the stops for this event.

This event will feature trails that are NOT open to the general public, the trail crew here has revitalized some classic descents and connected a few more trails! Expect a day full of top to bottom descents, down some of the rowdiest trails, that you may never get to ride again!

Not to mention, on Sunday, the park will be for our private use until 12:30pm, and the crew is opening up early for us, starting at 8:30am! Blue Mountain Resort, is the third stop of the 2017 MEC Canadian National Enduro Series (CNES), presented by Intense Cycles and will be held on Sunday, June 25th, 2017. This round is hosted by hosted by Blue Mountain Resort. Registration is still open, register now. Day of registrations is cash only! Please bring exact amounts.

MEC Mechanic Station and Demos


Be sure to check out the MEC & Intense tent in at the base of the gondola which will feature free mechanic services for riders, and demos of the 2017 Intense lineup on Saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm and Sunday from 7:00am-3:00pm. More information.

Blue Mountain Course Release

EWSQ and NAET


All racers are automatically entered to the EWS Qualifier and the North American Enduro Tour. You don't need to do anything! However, if you want series points, see below.

NAET - Racers in the Open Men and Open Women categories will automatically be included in the North American Enduro Tour rankings.

EWSQ - Only racers with an EMBA membership will be eligible to receive EWS Qualifier Series ranking points. If you would like to gain points for the EWS qualifier series, you must register with the Enduro Mountain Bike Association. Riders must have the membership before the race – points will not be assigned retroactively.

Important Info

U21, U15 categories: Full face helmets are mandatory. - They are strongly recommended for all other categories. Helmets must be worn while climbing.
Blind Stages - The bottom of stages 1, 3, 4, 5 and the top of stage 6, will be kept closed until race day. Riders caught practicing these sections, will be given a 3:00 minute penalty.
• You are permitted to ride the stages until you see the closures (closed trails are closed with yellow or red Tape). To access stage 6 (O-Chute), just enter the trail from the normal
start of O-Chute (next to the gondola). You are permitted to hike the blind sections, just no riding, please!
Stages 1 and 5 have the same FINISH line. So take note if pre-riding

• There is no mandatory Practice
Put your lift ticket on your left wrist only
Lift Tickets are $25.00 for Saturday and Sunday - you must be pre-registered before Saturday, in order to take advantage of this. Simply show your receipt in your phone at Guest
Services, and you're set!
All racers Must pickup timing tag, plate and attend riders briefing on Sunday, June 25th, 2017 during their designated time on Sunday.
Timing Tag Pick up is at the Blue Mountain Grand central lodge in the Summit Room.
• There is no plate pickup or any other form of registration on Saturday.
• 'Day of' registration is available, however, there is a $10.00 increase in price.
• See schedule below for your registration time and departure time.
• The race will feature riding in the park while it is closed to the public from approximately 8am-12:30pm.
• Unfortunately - this means that spectators will have limited options to view from, due to the closure.
• The race should be finished by 3:00pm at the latest

Spectators/Friends - Absolutely no hiking of the bike trails - this is a downhill mountain bike park.

***Weather Permitting*** there will be practice, but come race day, rain or shine, we're shredding!

Course pre-riding:

Respect all trail closures and course markings
• Riders must not move course tape
• Creation of 'cheat lines', trail modification or cutting the course, will result in a 5-minute penalty. Let's keep the trail enjoyable for the future!
• Please do not 'race' as the trails are not closed to the public during practice.
• Pack all garbage out!
• Please understand that during the pre-ride, the course marking may not be completed and is subject to change.
• Be prepared; Tools, tubes, water, food

Schedule


Departure time is the time you depart from the bottom of the Hill. Riders must not be on the trails before that time.

*There is a mandatory rider's briefing 5 Minutes before your departure time*

• 6:15am – Registration Volunteers only: Meet at registration tent
• 6:30am – Volunteer and first-aid meeting: Meet at registration tent
• 7:00–7:30am: U21 and U15, 21–29 and U21 Women and Open Women registration
7:30am: U21 and U15, 21-29 and U21 Women and Open Women Depart
• 7:30am–8:00am: 40+ Men, All Short Course Registration
8:00am: 40+, all Short Course, depart
• 8:00–8:30am: 30–39 Men Registration
8:30am: 30–39 Men Depart
• 8:30am–9:00am: Pro Men and Pro Women Registration
9:00am-ish: Pro Men and Pro Women Depart
• Anyone who leaves prior to their departure time will face a three-minute penalty.

Important Course Information

To access stage 6 (Rshore-O-Chute), just ride the main gravel path until you see the START 6 Sign. Watch out, it's full noise!

Food Station

Fully stocked food station by Clifbar will be on course, you will likely pass it twice, the location is TBD. We'll have bananas, fruit, granola bars, muffins, chips, candy, water electrolyte drink and a whole bunch of other goodies!
