In February Calgary Cycle held our annual fat-bike frozen rodeo. We organized a poker event with all proceeds going to the GBCTA. This week we presented them with a cheque for $1000 representing the money raised from the event.
After talking to these hard working gentlemen for an afternoon it is evident the mountain bike scene in Calgary is growing and the trail crew in Bragg is on the front lines of the growth. The number of riders travelling through the West Bragg parking lot has grown exponentially in the last few years. The West Bragg Creek trailhead that previously saw 30,000 - 40,000 people in a year, is now being expanded by the government to accommodate 140,000 - 150,000 people.
At Calgary Cycle, we wanted to show our support further for the local trails and the Calgary MTB scene so we have partnered with IBIS to raffle off a trail bike with 100% of the money raised going to the Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association (GBCTA). The raffle has been running for a month and will remain active until September 31st 2015. A $10.00 raffle ticket will enter you into the draw to win an IBIS bike of your choice, complete with an XT build kit.
