Please no Brad J for Joyride, it's painful.

I don't understand why they keep bringing him back. Hopefully we don't have to put up with Brad Ewan this week too.

 Amen! It's seriously brutal.
  • 1 1
 Preach.
  • 4 1
 Poor Brad getting roasted lol
  • 2 2
 Deserved. It's a joke.

You can literally hear the cringe in Cam McCaul's voice (or his silence) when Brad J says something awkward.

I feel like that's where those weird pauses are coming from. Ugh.

Brad J gets paid to talk for hours, so he talks, for hours. You'd say some silly stuff if you were forced to talk for hours also. If they get rid of him, someone else who gets paid to talk will come and talk.

 @HpSauce:

exactly, better would be better

Not sure how I feel about not tricking the jumps to win with just the speed. Don't think you should be able to take it out without the tricks

Thankfully it didn't win in the end

The judging was garbage. This is, after all, Dual Speed and Style. But it seemed speed with very minimal tricks got you to 2nd place. I guess I don't understand how the judging works. At this point, I don't give a shit to. Seems to be the new norm with mtb judging.

Dual speed and style my ass. It was speed winning through the whole thing. Very disappointed with the consistency of bad judgements in just about every mtb event.

I would rather just watch dual slalom or 4X if riders can choose to just forego the style element completely and still get second place. I would rather it just be pure speed and no points period but if you are going to compete in a speed+style event both elements should be required.

 Dual speed and speed ftw
  • 3 0
 2nd place actually
  • 2 0
@horselips12: granted, but I think I make a valid point.

@johannjenkinson: you did. I was shaking my head after every time Slavik won. No disrespect, an amazing rider, but if you're aiming for a 0 you're falling short and shouldn't be there competing, let alone scoring a podium spot.

@Crooks: agreed, glad Adrien took the win

It should be both speed and style and that is what won in the end.

This course leaned towards the racer style, other courses have favored the tricksters.

Slavic squeaked through some early rounds as not tricking can be risky plus i think a few guys missed gates against him. He showed up and ran his 4x race style. Tricks + speed ended up winning.

Great event and you didn't know who was going to win until the last battle.

Kyle Straight always seems so mad at the events. He's veteran in this sport, wish he'd loosen up and smile a bit!

You know your into bikes when you only gonna get 2 hours sleep as you are staying up to watch Crankworx!
  • 3 1
Edit: Broadcasting crew needs to step up their game, so many awkward pauses and random fillers.

Excellent contest! Right down to the last heat! Amazing riding by Adrien Loron!

Man, I forgot just how bad interlaced video was with motion.
  • 1 0
How do you know it's interlaced? Surely it's progressive scan with a low frame rate?
  • 2 0
Funny how Bas is from the USA, and Tom is from Canada!?!
  • 2 1
Caroline Buchanan watching the event! Ready for the pump track later this week!
  • 2 0
 Where is everyone?
  • 9 2
Brad Js announcing keeps the crowd sparse
  • 1 0
I feel that this contest format could never end without controversy.
  • 1 1
Wait what, how did Slavic outscore Mitch on tricks? They both did 360s
