Every year in Europe there is a mass invasion of Kiwi downhillers trying to make their impression on the world cup scene. I spent a week with 3 of them who have already made their mark; Sam Blenkinsop, Wyn Masters and Brook Macdonald.

by the looks of things it could be morzine i think! some of the trails look like the steep lines of the main Pleney line at the bottom! so steep with trees in the most awkward places!!!

 Does New Zealand have any lift access parks? Which island is best for DH riding?

 In Queenstown they are starting a lift access park which should be pretty sick. They are building new tracks and there are those ones that are on "follow me" if you have seen it. The South Island has better riding and more places to ride but they are both pretty good. Hope that helps =D

 Both islands are pretty good for DH really. There is an awesome bike park in Rotorua (middle of the north island) that has a shuttle bus running most days. So it's definitely slower than a lift would be, but still, it's better than pushing. There are a few good rides in Wellington where you can take a car to the top. There's a great scene in NZ, and it's surprisingly huge considering the population is only 4mil. Make a trip there if you can, I don't think you'd regret it (rjmc - NZr living in France)

 whats with all you american/candians needing chairlifts? most NZ dh runs are shuttle-able and its algood.

 Because most of the spots that are shuttle over here are built of federal land and is technically illegal. Being that they're illegal they don't get built to their full potential like the chair lift parks do.

 Well with ALL shuttle downhill in NZ it's all legal and all built to a high standard of radness. Just look at the results of Kiwi downhillers. Don't get that from shitty tracks do ya.
