This week on the Downtime Podcast, I’m joined by Ethan Nell. Growing up in Utah and with a love of riding two wheels on dirt, it’s not surprising that Ethan saw Red Bull Rampage at a young age and was inspired. Ethan has gone on to take 3rd place at his first ever Rampage and back that up with 3rd the following year too. Join us for a chat about his background in Moto and his journey to the Rampage podium. Find out more about his bike set up, and what goes into putting together a line on those infamous cliffs. It never ceases to amaze me what these guys can do on a bike, and it was super interesting to chat to Ethan and find out more about what goes into it, so hit play below and give this episode a listen.

Love that you're hosting the freeride guys. Keep it up.

@chriskneeland: Thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Who else would you like to hear from?

@downtimepodcast: Current and next gen freeriders that come to mind are Jaxson Riddle, Reed Boggs, DJ Brandt, Peter Jamison, Owen Marks, Adolf Silva.

Then there's guys who've been in the game for awhile still grinding but you don't really hear from much like Brendan Howey, Reece Wallace, Logan Peat, Anthony Messere, Kyle Norbraten, Conor MacFarlane, Vinny T.

Then legends that were around for a bit but you don't see much of anymore like Antoine Bizet, Mitch Chubey, Jeff Herb, Nick Pescetto, Maaken, James Doefling, Will White, Thomas Zejda, Kyle J.

It's cool to hear how dudes got into the sport, who their first connections were and what hook ups they got early on, and who kind of mentored them coming up. Then how they got into the types of riding they ended up doing, or how/why they crossed over into a new sphere. Bike set up is always fun to learn about when dudes are riding courses like Fest and Rampage. Relationships with brands ending and how new deals came about. All interesting stuff.
