Great, so you acquire information from dirt website (where they have gone to the work of actually find this stuff out), stick it on here and then don't even reference them. Nice one...
nickism - I was just about to write this exact comment. Poor journalism pinkbike. Other media outlets have also re-published this material, but they have cited dirtmag.com and Steve Jones.
Easy there Ryan... I definately agree that they should've given Dirt their proper respect and credit but they did pretty clearly say in the first line that they pulled this info from the internet so nowhere have they commited fraud and tried to say that this was their own inside line on info. You calling them out for "fraud" is as bad or worse than them failing to mention Dirt...
Let's just call it a bad oversight and let it go already...
looks kinda sweet, not really digin the marzocchi specs, but maybe it wont be stock. i think id settle for a 951 instead, bb is high, =level with axle,
Keep in mind this is a 10" travel bike (like the M6, isn't it?)... so the BB is going to appear high because it's going to sit lower in it's travel. The V10's BB is even higher.
@rideracelive someone did broke a 951 (it's on mtbr) but it happened because of rider's fault not design or anything. It actually broke on a random spot on the top tube because of the immense pressure actuated by the crash. They're still legit imo. I mean, I'm thinking of getting one so no harm done.
OMG Intense enough of the teasing already, after the World Cup, please release this bad boy. Don't bother watering the model down, we want the full on carnivorous Intense M9.
to all of you which are argueing if Santa Cruz or Intense is the inventor of the VPP Design. Both of them aren't, It was Outland Bikes, here is the Link: www.firstflightbikes.com/1998_Outland_VPP.htm After they closed the doors Santa Cruz bought the patent about VPP an then they did some resarch thogether with Intense ( I belive) to put it on a higher level. So the first bike which came out was the first generation V-10 in 2001 or 2002
ok is it just me or did the M6 not look like the V10. all these comments make it seem like people have never noticed this...or the fact that intense has done VPP for a while now. some even said it looks like a Commencal...really? is that a joke? looks nothing like it. i would think this replaces the M6 because a 10'' travel bike is a bit overkill for most. also to loose weight.
Nice, a tad sleeker around the TT than my M6 but I will prolly stick with my 38lb M6 though 63.4 degree HTA is insane, someone needs to come out with 60 degree HTA for a monster truck laugh. Other reviews indicate it pops and airs better than the M6 but I've never had a problem manhandling my beauty (ooh err missus) at that build weight. Different when she was 43.5lbs !!!
And, hello dickwads yes it looks like a v10, d'yever think the M1 and M3 may have given SC an idea , who cares anyway M6/M9 is the dark side of the force bwehhhahhhaa.
Laughing at the 'looks like a commencal' comments.
I thought Gee's commencal looked like the Intense watching the WC on Sunday. This is barely ANY different to the M6, main difference apart from technical tweaks is the 951 downtube. On the other hand, Commencal painted their bikes blue this season (From white last season) and put banded white decals on them (Like the 951 was intro'd with.

because a Roco rear shock is heavier than say a fox RC or DHX, and then ad on a set of 888 forks which even though they are 2010 team models, will be heavy. marzocchi can't seems to make things light..
a great bike i'm sure but there are a few reasons that this thing would be pretty hopeless in the UK ( with the exception of fort william) because its just to much bike for the UK. A 951 would be a much better choice IMO and pretty soon (next year perhaps) intense are going to be bringing out are carbon DH bike, it's always about the next best thing for intense, which could be see as a good thing but maybe they should concentrate on current problems on the 951 and fix those. I have heard stories of the bike blowing through it's travel to quickly and weak frame strength and poor build quality, maybe if intense concentrated on eliminating these problems first it might be better for the mountain biking community
repositioned shock in a more horizontal position, higher bb (wtf??), G3 freackin' expensive drop outs, beeffier hidroformed tubbing (lets see if the 'cracking 951 welding' factor doesn't come along aswell) - different clothing, same shiat! Seems dope to me aswell, but expensive bling dope!
there is only so many ways you can use VPP linkage on a frame. this is especially with a high stroke frame. thats why Santa Cruz and Intense use the same frame layout on the M series and V10's since there isn't really another practical way.
yeah but the marzo on this bike has High and low speed compression rebound and bottom out. The race does not. so a comparable coil sprung fork is just a tiny bit heavier but not enough to call a difference on 2g.
yeah but the Boxxer Team has all the adjustments of the 888. there is a 40 gram difference between the Team and Race. The Team also comes with a steel spring so it would definitely beat the 888 in weight if you upgraded to a coil spring, and it would still probably be a few hundred dollars cheaper than the 888.
It looks like the m6... only a little different. I donno how everyone thinks all the bikes look the same. Intense tubing is really recognizable look near the headtube and at the links.
That's surprising
damn

I would so rather have the Intense M9 over that thing.
Too bad...
No (explosive) M-80!!!
Sanatacruz develop VPP and intense use it under santacruz licence. Of course m6/m9 look like v10
an INTENSE M9 VPP...
