PRESS RELEASE: Reverse Components “Shovel and Shred” US Team

From April 2019, German components brand Reverse will be available in the USA for the first time. As a rider owned company, we thought it was only right to let the riders lead the charge. After a fairly intense and gruelling interview process, Nico Vink has put together a choice crew of freeride professionals, ready to build, ride and push limits across America.

Belgian freerider Nico doesn’t need much of an introduction. He’s been with Reverse since 2009, back when he was still a World Cup DH racer (which seems like a lifetime ago...) As a builder and rider we knew he would be the right person to head up the team, working with the guys to find new locations, new riders and new ways to push what’s possible on two wheels.

Kyle Jameson joined us at the start of 2018 and will play an important role in the Shovel and Shred team as one of Oregon’s finest shredders, with an unmatched appetite for hero dirt and airtime.

Like Nico, he’s filmed a huge number of insane video productions around the world and is also in the trailbuilding trade, so he’s got an eye for a perfectly crafted take-off and knows what’s gonna work!

Next up is Damon Iwanaga.
Packing an unmatched height to boost ratio, Damon is an absolute weapon on two wheels and pretty handy on the “dad cam” to boot (which is good, 'cause someone has to film Christian!).

Hailing from California and now living in Nevada, he’s got bikeparks on his doorsteps and a bunch of digging and filming projects in the works this year.

And finally rounding out the 4 strong team is BMX rider and filmer Christian Rigal. He started as the videographer for the Reverse USA projects but when we saw him ride, we were blown away and knew he had to be on the other side of the camera aswell. If you ever played Matt Hoffman’s Pro BMX as a kid, he’s doing that stuff for real! Check out his riding here.
He’s fairly new to MTB riding which is such a great opportunity for a fresh, innovative input to the team. We’re big fans of crossovers and stoked to see what he comes up with in 2019.

We launch in the USA at Sea Otter Classic, April 11th. If you're there, drop over to Booth S19 and meet the team!

Curious to see what Christian comes up with for MTB videos. We have enough Planet Earth nature documentary style MTB vids with 30 seconds of slow mo berm roosts sprinkled in, I'm betting Christian comes up with some high energy videos with unique videography.

Reverse makes e-bike seatposts in two diameters that aren't droppers, e-bike stems and e-bike handlebars. I'm sorry, what.
