Scratchmere Scar is a brand new extreme mountain biking center situated in the north of England, in Cumbria. It has been running for nearly 6 months, and it has uplifts running every weekend. It offers a choice of 3 DH tracks currently, and it is evolving all the time. As you read this there will be someone there building at the moment,
4x, Freeride, Foam Pit, Dirt Jumps,a Slopestyle Park and XC are all planned and all it needs is some helpers to make this dream into a reality.Scratchmere Scar is Cumbria's only official Downhill & Dirt Jump Park. The newest DH track in the UK delivers fast, technical fun & promises to be the prime venue for mountain bike riding; promoting top competitions and attracting the best riders from all over the UK.
Our vision at Cumbria Bike Parks is to not only create the best bike park in Cumbria, but the best bike park offering the widest range of cycling in the country. Already there are 3 DH tracks in. The Freeride line has been planned to have some huge features for the pro’s among us and also easier lines perfect for beginners or nailing those tricks. As well as a Freeride line there will be a Slopestyle park, were not talking little tables, we're talking huge wallrides and proper sized doubles. And on top of the Freeride AND the Slopestyle, we plan to have some proper dirt jumps and a pump track and not only that, but its own foam pit! The 4x line is planned and awaits until the FR and Slopestyle is complete, and there will also be no corners cut there. Penultimately there is the skills loop, a perfect start for beginners or for the more experienced to brush up on their skills. Finally, here at Scratchmere we want to hold many races in all different disciplines, our own series through out the winter and summer seasons, 4x races, dirt jam comps and even Slopestlye competitions. Obviously this is a lot of work for one man and his spade so it depends on local builders. So far the turnout of builders has been great, there would barely be one track in without it, and this needs to carry on to make our vision into reality.
The 3 DH tracks vary a lot and therefore offer a wide variety of choices for the riders, "Oldskool" is how DH tracks used to be, and when you ride it you would see exactly what I mean, secondly, "Supernatural", this has very few man made features, and has un-bermed steep corners which are a test for even the regulars, and also the natural rock garden goes down a treat. Lastly, the newest of the tracks has yet to be named has a huge variety of features, step ups, rock drops, hip jumps and a scary huck. This track was shown in the above video.
The uplifts are in operation EVERY weekend and are only £15 pounds for the whole day.

first check your spelling, second, unless you have rode there you dont know how steep it is, it is steeper than abberfeldy in places, and yes there are slightly flatter bits, but thats what pedalling is for
