Val Di Sole World Cup - Day 1 Practice Photos

Jul 29, 2010
by Mike Levy
We've got photog Fraser Britton on the scene in Italy for this weekend's World Cup race. Have a look at his photos of riders tearing up the fast Val Di Sole track during the first day of practice!

Read on...
photo
Cedric on his carbon V-10... The chances are high that shortly after this picture was taken Cedric laid out a out footed table during his practice run. Who out there saw his moves at least weekend's mud-fest?! Thanks for keeping it fresh, Cedric!

photo
Hannah is very close to breaking the sound barrier in this photo! The Val Di Sole track photos show a wide open course that should encourage plenty of different lines - will this benefit the more creative riders out there?

photo
Last week's winner Emmeline Ragot with a scary moment

photo
James Rennie with the double foot/hand plant maneuver

photo
Aaron Gwin is looking to improve on his 9th place finish at Champery last weekend and this fast and rough Italian track may be just the place to do it. Look at the eyes!

photo
There is a good chance that Brendan can show up at your local track and ride lines that you've never even seen on his first blind run down... and out whip you to boot. Have a look at his front chainring - more info to come!

photo
Dan Stanbridge aboard his Norco DH bike

photo
Young gun Troy Brosnan is surely benefiting from his teammates' knowledge and is probably the fastest 70 lb rider on earth

photo
I don't know abut you guys, but this photo makes me want to jump on my DH bike and rip shit up. BRAP!

Check out Day 1's videos from GT bikes and MTB Cut

Stay tuned for more coverage from the Val Di Sole World Cup!

looking at the second photo in moleman's link, seems like shimano capreo. nice idea, better chainline, less cogs+shorter chain=less weight too. dont know bout the smaller splined-to-each-other cogs durability though.

hmm, maybe they can even use shorter rear derailer cage too?

I don't think you could get much smaller than something like a saint super short cage cos I think they run on two 9t jockey wheels which is pretty small as it is or maybe they could just use a roller instead of a jockey wheel then a 9t wheel underneath it which would make it shorter
