It’s Christian Bagg’s first time at the Canadian Rockies 24 and his first time racing solo for 24 hours. After spending years developing the Bowhead RX to what it is today. Christian can now get stuck into events like this.

We are here for the Canadian Rockies 24 at the Canmore Nordic Centre its iconic in the Kanaaskis and Canadian Rockies. It s full or real mountain bike trails. It should be a pretty amazing event a test of endurance not just physically but emotionally and sleep deprivation wise. - Christian Bagg Bowhead Founder

The Course is 15.7km with 480m of climbing, the goal is to do as many laps as possible in 24hrs.

bigquotesEveryone kinda thinks of these things as…could I do it? I think that’s a question for a lot of people. When you try it and actually make it then you come back and want to do better and better.

I didn’t know quite what to expect when I spoke to Christian before the race and he said you know the bike I’m on it’s as wide as your bike. It’s as wide as a normal MTB handlebar. Then I did some laps with him an we were just ripping single track. It was a hoot. I was really impressed with his skill and the actual engineering of the bike.

Exciting to see. Way to go Christian! Even if our daughter with CP never gets the chance to ride or own a Bowhead, I will always cheer these guys on. She doesn’t let much slow her down and neither do they.

Big Props for 6 laps! Classic nordic centre 24 hours - blue skies as far as you can see, then the rain comes (sometimes in the night, sometimes during the day), and it comes hard.

My 24 hours memories - dead dog tired, in the dark, going so slow, feeling all alone only to have some guy appear out of the dark and pass you like you are standing still only to be alone again (so much so I was going to go hide in my Pathfinder so they couldn't find me for my next lap, endorphins made that feeling pass as soon as I got off my bike); sleeping through the torrential downpours after my night lap and waking up to pre-dawn clear skies and watching the sun rise on my next lap.

I would love a bowhead for my daughter, but sadly the price is restrictive. It's anyone aware of anywhere in the uk where they can be hired - something where I can see if it is something she enjoys (or not!)?

Worth chatting to both experience community www.experiencecommunity.co.uk who have an RX and are based in Leeds. Adaptiv sports have both a Reach and RX and are based in Dorset. Both Craig for Experience and Jack from Adaptiv are really helpful. adaptivsports.co.uk

They also make a cheaper bike called the rogue which they've designed with growing kids in mind. Adaptiv will have one available in the coming weeks.

So inspiring!! Strengthens my perception of how tough we can be, how important it is to stop & help, how we can keep our spirits up in the face of adversity, and how trivial our problems. Remembered our first ultra-marathin crewing gig. Standing at the finish line watching runners stumble in, with tears of pride in their eyes, and smiles on their faces. Most, after more than 30 hours on the trail. As emotional & humbling an event that I've ever witnessed. Felt a lot like that, watching this video. Christian is a Superman, and a true HERO!! Thanks Christian (and Pinkbike) for sharing.

The hill on 9 52 is about 2 times steeper and 2 times longer than it looks on a video... just to give a perspective. I cannot make it in the winter on a fat bike Big Grin

Incredible effort, big respect. Was curious how the bridge would go. Great work!

I feckin love this sport. Props to the riders who stopped their race to push the guy up the hill cause that was more important.
