The French National Championships is one of the most competitive in the world with a stacked field of World Cup winners. This year the race was hosted in Valberg with a flat out and dusty track that started with a brutal sprint out of the gate. Myriam Nicole and Benoit Coulanges ended the day as the winners in both seeding and finals and they have both posted their full winning runs on social media. Both runs can be watched below:

I haven't noticed a paywall YET. Am I missing something?

Best coverage I ve seen so far from a track... Must have been Paywall content to had missed... You don't even get commentators for free... This is to so anticipated NWO... sad.

Wow the French National had great coverage. Is the full coverage of the race, or the top five runs, available to watch some where? Would be great to be able to see more runs and see how these two won. Also wasn’t the US DH nationals broadcast? Any chance we could get some of that coverage?

it was for the main 30 riders approximatively

Lot of coverage. Commentaries are agonizingly ..... let's say sad..... But more importantly. Nicole and Coulanges are rocking it!

Serious question here: what's the meaning of the whistle along sinde the tracks during the runs in DH's practice and race? It is some kind of saferty alert?
  • 9 0
Yes. There are a series of whats called Course Marshalls lined up at say 100 meter or so intervals (depending on visibility) all down the course. Each Marshall blows their whistle to alert the next that a racer is inbound.

Yes it is. It indicates the rider has passed.

@thedirtyburritto: it would be nice if we could find a way to safely get rid of the whistle

Wow, that was great coverage. French DH, always the benchmark.

Great coverage. Might not quite be Red Bull WC quality, quite a few end on views saves on the number of cameras, butdoesn't give the best view. Definitely shits all over Crankworx DH and IXS Cup coverage though

Pretty surprised by the amazing coverage of the course. Great job. Wish we had this many cameras on the WC courses.

Wow, the start of that track is really flat. Serious work going on right off the bat!

that top looks like a pedal fest!

I still wonder if the pole did hit the brake lever or Ben's fingers at 1:21 and 3:22. Must hurt...

 Lots of French lines taken
