Selected by Matt Wragg - It's interesting to see Christoph Laue turn his lens to freeriding for a change and I'm a big fan of the bare trees, jagged rock and sphincter-clenchingly steep chute.
your rotated photo rotates the base of the tree to vertical, but when trees grow on slopes, they curve to correct to be vertical at the top. so, in the original photos, the tops of the tree on the rock immediately to riders right are vertical. either way, between the version you rotated and the original, it's still ass puckering steep and gnarly.
Wohhh!!!!!! lunatic… this guy is crazy man, that photo made me spill hot lava into my pantaloons. Good thing he didn't try to roll that massive rock face. What a terrible shot that would have been.
Nothing interesting or creative here. Looks like a poorly composed shot of a rider riding down a smooth slope. The black and white is probably an effort to make this photo look more professional, but it actually just makes it look like a hipster's instagram photo.
Hmmm bumpbumpoverthejump...speaking of nothing interesting I just looked at your profile and wow. It's like a goldmine of uninteresting stuff. You should probably keep your unnecessarily negative comments to yourself in the future.
my profile has nothing to do with it, and the very fact that you think the state of it leaves you in the position to attempt to prevent me from giving my opinion which {from my point of view} is quite reasonable, is quite unnecessary, and whats more, unintelligent.
I had a response as to why I liked this photo then got re-directed because the background is now one giant click-on ad... WHAT THE f*ck IS THE POINT?! IT'S SO STUPID!
The point is you clearly know nothing about photography. All of your observations were negative, if not insulting. Don't embarrass yourself by attempting to insult something that you have no clue about.
Why does he clearly know nothing about photography? I'm not by any means an expert, but I actually agree with him one hundred percent. The composition is not good at all, and the black and white effect only serves to relegate the rider to the background of the shot, which can't be the aim?
I said he clearly knows nothing about photography because that is why is profile is relevant. He has not posted any sort of well taken photos.
What is not good about the composition?
The black and white is done because a picture like this is more for the entire landscape. The rock in the foreground, the trees in the back. The rider isn't meant to stand out. Photography is not all about capturing the rider vividly.
personally I like the fact that you go on my profile, look through my photos, and decide that my opinion is no longer of any consequence because I lack multi thousand pound cameras and so on, and so therefore i cannot take photos that are any good{in your opinion}
@mtbrider71 If we are playing that game, I have had a look at your profile and you do not appear to have any well taken photos either (Which by your logic means you "know nothing about photography")
So that makes you a hypocrite. You are using the fact that bumpbumpoverthejump has "no well taken photos" as an argument against him, when actually you have "no well taken photos" either
Okay, fair enough. I know nothing about photography. Which is why I did not attempt to insult the picture.
I don't think you know what hypocrite actually means. I never claimed to know anything about taking pictures. I also was the not one who originally brought up his profile in the first place. I was just telling him why Schissler mentioned it.
Now explain at least one of the things you claim:
"The composition is not good at all"
"and the black and white effect only serves to relegate the rider to the background of the shot, which can't be the aim?"
