You can use a zip tie or a chopstick and a rubber band attached to a frame stay as a quick and dirty truing stand, and I've done both, but for about a year now I've had this idea knocking around in my head. Clip it to a stay with a rubber band or a hair tie and you're all set. About the same size/weight as a Bic lighter, probably a pretty good tool to just have knocking around in a center console or glove box or in the bottom of a pack.

@RunsWithScissors still offering those .stl files?? You should just put this on Shapeways or somewhere that'll print to order, make a few bucks and let lazy people like me get them without finding a 3D printer Smile

Pretty sure I lost or deleted those files a couple years ago. I had a lot of spare time to kill at work back then. Had to move on from 3d printing when I opened the bike shop. If I happen to run across them I'll post them up on Thingiverse. I have an account there (that I also haven't had time to look at in a couple years).

If you want one I'll print it for you and you can pick it up whenever it's convenient. They basically cost about nothing to make now...

Thanks Smile I can send you the .stl files if you know anybody with a 3d printer. Takes about an hour and a half on my Prusa.

@RunsWithScissors: may I ask you for the .stl files? I have a friend with a 3d printer and I'd love to make a couple as gifts for some wrench loving friends!
