@therealtylerdurden: They say any gun can blow up... but the thing about Glocks is, they're the only gun that's ever blown up in my hand. I'm not fanboy enough to think they all blow up and I get the sheer number of them out there but still, once the slide pops off the frame and the frame splits and your hand feels like you just smacked a tree with an aluminium bat, it's tough to ever take them seriously again.
@badbadleroybrown: For sure the Glock 40's had a bad spell of disassembling themselves frequently. Actually tons of forums and articles just on the glock 40 detonation. The other issues is the frequent issues with not passing the drop test. They also feel cheap to me. of course p320 drops failure rings true in this marketing campaign.
@therealtylerdurden: A lot of the .40 issues were because they just tried to wedge a .40 into a 9mm gun without redesigning anything for the extra pressure. The one I had blow was a 9mm though... nothing special, just a failure.
@therealtylerdurden: It didn't connect with me.. it just kind of popped instead of sliding back like normal. The left side was off the rail and it only slid maybe 1/4 inch back. The magazine got launched out of of the grip and the frame cracked all the way down the left side just behind where the trigger guard connects to the grip. Didn't get injured at all... just felt like I smacked my hand down hard on a metal table or something. That ringing, buzzing feeling you get.
Haha not a huge Glock fan, but their PR dept is funny as hell!! All said though, much like I'm a car guy, and not a Ford/Chevy guy, I'm a guns guy, not a Sig/Glock/HK/whatever guy. Guns are good.
