Wow hot, slow cooked, bbq pork. Yuummm.... I'd have apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing and put it all in a bread roll/sub (or two). That's my idea of a great night in.

Awesome adm750, cool as ice pics as usual. My mouth is watering and not sure whether it's looking into the guts of that monster motor or the food...lol. Smile

Hey thanks Reaper!! The apple sauce and stuffing added on a sub roll sounds really really good. I'm gonna steal that idea. I was going to brine it first in an apple cider mix but didn't think far enough ahead...lol. But I did get a sweet and smokey rub on it, and a baste (to mop it with) that had apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, ham base stock, and some of the rub spices. Had I had a bit more time that night for dinner I'd have taken some of the drippings and made some yorkshire puddings to serve up with it. Maybe next time Wink

That motor is a used 3.5L V6 GM engine that I am installing into my son's car. His Impala dropped a cylinder and started misfiring. So last weekend he and I resealed the replacement engine (that picture), pulled the old engine, and got the replacement swapped in. Took a night off last night and we'll be buttoning it up tonight. Only a few more little things to connect then fill it with fluids. Between work, the two on-line college classes I'm taking, and trying to get this motor swapped, it's been a tiring week/weekend. I'm gettin' too old for this shit lol

You obviously know your food like your know your engines. Over here we have Christmas market stalls pop up all over City and town centres. Usually there's a few stalls with a full pig roasting with apple sauce and stuffing on a sub which is standard affair. I have to take a trip down and enjoy a few. Brings out the primal instincts....vegetarians, what a bunch of weirdos, lol! Wink

Couldn't quite tell if it was a V6 or V8 with the rockers at first but still looks a beast.

Great job doing an engine replacement etc. not something I've ever had the opportunity to do so far. Yes I also find myself saying 'I'm too old for this sh#t' regularly these days Buddy.

My 12 year old Seat, auto, diesel, people carrier went to the scrap yard this week. Failed it's M.O.T. and wasn't safe to drive and double it's worth to fix. The guy handed me a piece of the front suspension spring and the rest was wedged on a linkage which could have let go at any time and gone through the tyre.

Just got myself a low mileage, 4 year old standard Nissan Pulsar, 6 speed manual 1.2l with turbo and intercooler. A decent mid sized family car to keep the clan happy and okay performance to keep me happy too. Have been spoiled having an auto for the last two years and now have to get used to driving a manual in rush hour traffic again but all good.

Hopefully you'll get chance for a ride this weekend between food, engines and online courses. Either way, have a great weekend whatever you're up to Bro. Wink

hey bud...! sorry for the late response.
Those markets sound pretty neat....and yeah, I'm all about the meat. gotta have meat. lol

Engine finally done but I'm sorting some cooling system foaming. Hoping it's some incompatible coolant issues creating this and not a head gasket issue. Flushing it again, and if it doesn't quit I'll do a block test on it. Hopefully I will not be repeating this little adventure.
Been a long time since I've had to pull an engine. Tedious work. I'd swapped a few around in my RX7....but it was stripped of everything. Carbs, headers, ancillaries was all that was left. I could have it out in under an hour.

Sorry the car had to go to the yard bro. But...sounds like it was nearing the end of useful life. Pulsar actually sounds quite cool. The old ones were pretty tossable. One of my wife's friends had one way back in the day. I did some work on it for her too.

Weekend is gonna be a pinch for sure. Projects due for both classes along with the usual reading and tests. Been a bitch of a past couple weeks. Hope to get out though.

and same here bud...I hope you have an enjoyable weekend yourself my friend. Smile
