It's a little simplistic to call it a beefed up Anthem, it's a very different bike. You can't put on a 6inch fork to an Anthem, it's got way slacker geometry, the shock is mounted on the down-tube, the stays are ribbed, it runs bushes, adjustable geometry, 5inches of travel, etc..But I reckon as an owner of a Banshee it would pedal just as good and go where no Anthem would dare. The vf4b system is no nonsense laterally stiff as and very efficient at laying down the power. And way strong. I suppose though isn't every trail bike essentially a beefed up Anthem? ha,ha.
It would be fine if you ran it in the high and steep setting, as the leverage curve is more progressive. But unless you use a shock with good bottom out resistance the slack setting would probably blow through its travel too easily. However a custom tuned shock would solve that... and we will be offering a deal with Elka for 2010...
We call it the VF4B (virtual floating 4 bar). It is a short link 4 bar linkage like you get on many bikes, but the devil is in the detail, and the geometry of the linkages is all important. get something out by 1mm and it makes a massive difference!
