 guy i know bought an evil, snapped the pivot bolts after two weeks. on any major company's bike this would be no issue, but evil is kinda hard to get a hold of

 haha no. the larpierre is better. the owner is the designer of the fox 40. therefore he has the gold stantions plus HIGH AND LOW SPEED REBOUND!

but ur right about the ti-nitrate coating, its kinda dull and ugly but hey, a 40 is a 40 and it gets the job done

 Yea lapierre is lighter, gold stanctions, personally i dont like the gold stanctions but theyre a sign of either alot of money in the bank or the owner of a certain company to do with DH....
